The three northeastern regions, known collectively as the Tre Venezie or simply the Venezie, set the standard for Italian white wines. The Veneto region is first in volume of the DOC, producing a majority of Italy’s Pinot Grigio. Next is the cooler climate area of Alto Adige and finally Friuli-Venezia Giulia known for its stylishly contemporary white wines. Pinot Grigio, one of the most well known Italian white wines, is a versatile wine with aromatic richness on the nose and bright fruit characteristics on the palate that are suitable for a range of tastes.
Straw yellow in colour with greenish hues Piccini Pinot Grigio is light- medium bodied wine. On the nose it shows immediate forward flowery bouquet and fruit, especially apple and peach, holding a firm and fruity palate. Its crisp acidity balances well with the soft character recommending it as a pleasant and easy to drink wine. It pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine: antipasti or white meat. Pinot Grigio is an extremely versatile wine and can be paired with a wide variety of foods. It is delightful as an aperitif and is perfect for seafood or grilled poultry dishes.

Winemaker: Antonella Conti

Most of the area in the Tre Venezie is covered by glacial deposits making the soil rich in mineral content and therefore ideal for the cultivation of perfectly ripe fruit. Carefully selected whole clusters of Pinot Grigio undergo soft pressing just hours after harvesting. To preserve the purity of the grape variety and to allow its crisp, fresh taste to shine through, the wine is slowly fermented in stainless steel vats at cold temperatures. This long method of fermentation allows the essence and avor of the grape to fully develop, bringing delicate ower aromas, fruit notes and a racy acidity to the palate.
